A cold and windy day at Walvisbay in Namibia.
Entries and Vet inspections went without any incident.
Only a few entrants were eliminated, according to the Vets.
We will probably get official statistics soon, but the
figure will be low. (possibly 3 out of 171 horses,
unofficially indicated) The condition of the horses
presented were of a very high quality and all seems fit for
the ride tomorrow. Riders were reminded to take
extreme care and to monitor the condition of the horses,
especially for de-hydration and fatigue on the last leg.
Most of the visitors stated that they have never ridden
in conditions like Walvisbay making it a first of the
Australian and Brazilian teams. Even the more
experienced foreign riders have indicated that this event
will be a big challenge for horse and riders. We wish all
the teams and riders a fun and enjoyable ride. |
