KALAHARI ENDURANCE CLUB INVITES ALL RIDERS TO OUR LEONARDVILLE RIDE 28th OF JUNE 2008

Dr Gaugler is willing to do your’e identifications of your horses in your FEI passports as well as any inoculations necessary.  He stresses that this must be arranged with him before the ride.  His contact numbers are 063 241400 or cell 081 128 2733. Should your’e horse need veterinary attention during the ride, please make sure to pay your account immediately after consultation.

DISTANCES:  30km, 60km, 80km, 100km

VETERINARY INSPECTION:  14:15  till 17:30

ROUTE DISCUSSION:  18:00 sharp

PRICE GIVING AFTER RIDE

 

Requirements for horses:

  • Horses must be a minimum age of 4 years to compete in any of the distances.  Make sure the horses birth day and month are correct in its passport.
  • 5 years and older to compete in the 80km ride (3 x 60km already ridden)
  • 6 years and older to compete in the 100km ride (3 x 60km and 3 x 80km already ridden)
  • Must be shod for all distances.

 

Requirements for Rider:

  • Child Riders – Up to 13 years  (children are allowed to ride unaccompanied from 11 years and 1 day)
  • Junior/Young Riders – When a child turns 13 years and 1 day to 21 years  ( a rider, when turning 18 years of age can choose to ride either in the Young Rider category or as a Senior Rider)
  • Senior Riders – From 21 years
  • Heavyweight Rider -  From 95kg
  • All distance Riders must weigh in at 70kg with all riding gear excluding bridle.  Please be sure to present your saddle and tack for inspection.
  • Riding gear must include a hard hat, safety stirrups or shoes with a heel.  No rider will be allowed to compete without these.
  • Non-members are allowed two 60km rides at the club without membership.

 

Fees:

  • Entry fees for all distances:  N$200-00
  • Entry fees for 4 horses per owner: N$150-00
  • Camping at Leonardville per campsite N$50-00  (Campsites have been put out and bathrooms were upgraded so ladies no more cold showers!!!)
  • Friday Night Dinner  per person:  N$40-00 -  Starts at 19:00
  • Coffee and rusks will be given on Saterday morning.
  • Vetkoek, Pancakes, brotchens and lunch will be for sale on Saterday.
  • Cooldrinks, Energade, Beer, Ciders and Water will also be available for sale at Cash Bar.

 

Adequate watering for horses will be available.  You are requested to bring your own portable corrals.  If in need of a corral you can book one at Gustav Holz tel: 063 273336
